This winter, the team at Belle Property Central Coast are getting involved in several community events across our beautiful region. From food to arts and culture, there is something for everyone.
1. Taste of the Sea
Delicious seafood is one of the many perks of living in the Central Coast community. The Taste of the Sea event will take place on Sunday 26th June from 12 – 2pm. It aims to showcase the best oysters, prawns and other delights that our area has to offer. A portion of proceeds will also support our local Killcare Wagstaffe Rural Fire Brigade.
You’ll have the opportunity to become an oyster expert and learn how to shuck one dozen oysters from Sheridan and her team at Sydney Oyster Farm Tours. Meanwhile, the charming Ben from Ku Barz will be ready to recommend wine and whiskey pairings for your Taste of the Sea experience, too.
On top of a fun and educational experience, every ticket also includes a dozen oysters, prawns, a grazing board and complimentary glass of sparkling on arrival. A licensed bar will also be on site for additional liquor purchases. The event will take place at Wagstaffe Hall – you can purchase a ticket online here.
2. Pearl Beach Ephemereal Art Trail 2022 (PBEAT2022)
Run by the Pearl Beach Arboretum, and supported by Belle Property Central Coast and Central Coast Council, the Pearl Beach Arboretum Ephemeral Art Trail (PBEAT) is on again this year. PBEAT aims to create inspiring temporary public art that promotes nature conservation, community and cultural vibrancy on the Coast. The trail will run through 5.5 hectares of the Pearl Beach Arboretum, opening this June long weekend (Saturday June 11). The event will run for six weeks until the end of the school holidays on Sunday, July 17.
There will be a several side events such as workshops in ephemeral art and a musical afternoon on Saturday July 9. Over 20 artists and art cooperatives have entered works in PBEAT2022. There will be a first prize of $3,000 and a runner up prize of $1,000, together with a People’s Choice prize of $1,000. There will also be 5 community installations including a labyrinth.
3. 5 Lands Walk
Run by the local Darkingjung Aboriginal Land Council, the 5 Lands Walk is a collaboration between the Aboriginal peoples and the broader communities of Darkinjung Country. These include the artists, the surf clubs, the schools and the local businesses – including Belle Property Central Coast. It is a gift from over 700 volunteers and sponsors creating a free, day-long celebration where people from diverse walks of life and cultural backgrounds connect through walking together. Along the way, they experience Aboriginal culture, live music, art exhibitions, sculptural installations, and more.
The 5 Lands Walk follows 10km of spectacular coastline linking five villages on the Central Coast. It’s main objective is to connect people to each other, and people to place. In doing so, participants walk towards a more harmonious and inclusive future on the Central Coast and beyond.
This year, the event falls on on Saturday 25th June when the whales, a significant totem of the Darkinjung people, are also migrating north. It begins with an opening ceremony the night before – and there are many reasons to stay until Sunday to enjoy our beautiful region. You’ll find some of our passionate Belle Property Central Coast team assisting with registrations on the day – starting at 7.15am at Macmasters Beach. So head down and say hello!
Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram feeds for updates – there’ll definitely be more events to come.
